About Me

Mike Lillemo is the Vice President of Business Development at Employer Solutions Staffing Group (ESSG), bringing more than 25 years of experience in the staffing and workforce solutions industry. Prior to joining ESSG, Mike spent more than two decades as a Westaff franchise owner, growing his business to three locations in Minnesota before successfully selling the operation in 2024.

During his years as a Westaff franchise owner, Mike was elected by his fellow franchisees to serve on the Board of Directors, including serving as President. He was also elected for three consecutive terms to the Franchise Advisory Committee (FAC), where he represented franchise owners across both the Westaff and Remedy brands. The FAC served as the voice of the franchise community, working directly with corporate leadership on key decisions, strategic initiatives, and communication impacting the franchise system.

Throughout his career, Mike has worked closely with staffing agency owners and business leaders, giving him a unique perspective from both the ownership and service sides of the staffing industry. Having personally experienced the challenges of owning, growing, and operating a staffing company, he brings a practical, owner-focused approach to helping ESSG's staffing partners grow their businesses while navigating payroll, workers' compensation, funding, compliance, and operational challenges.

Mike is also a U.S. military veteran and believes strongly in relationships, accountability, and continuous improvement, with a simple philosophy that has followed him throughout his career: “Be Better!”.
